What we wear – Behçet Necatigil

While I live in darkness

you too dress in black.

Wear blues, tomorrow morning

come from the sea.

Fresh grass, wet weeds, flowers

pink, green, ultramarine.

I don’t want young women, nor tender girls

nor anyone

to wear black.
